...about us

Achievements

We have a broad policy of developing education in all its facets apart from publishing and marketing educational materials. We have been collaborating with the Ministry of Education, Ghana Education Service and other stakeholders in education in organising and sponsoring a number of educational activities.

We have been involved in sponsoring the following among others:

Ghana International Book Fairs
Radio Quiz Competitions
Reading Clinics and Competitions
Creative Writing Competitions and
Best Teacher Award programmes

Every year Unimax Macmillan Ltd also partly sponsors one medical student's internship overseas.

Furthermore, we have donated a substantial amount of money to the National Education Trust Fund. We have also made large donations of books to the various university libraries as well as to many Senior Secondary Schools for their speech and prize-giving ceremonies.

In direct response to the Ministry of Education's devolution and decentralisation policy, we have accepted the challenge to decentralise our marketing strategies by working closely with the Regional and District Directorates of Education, District Assemblies, Communities, Circuits and Schools. We are also working with the Regional, District, Community and Local Libraries to help develop the reading culture in Ghanaians, especially our children. So far, we are proud of the rich and fruitful co-operation we have had with the Ministry of Education and other sectors of education in the country.

Furthermore we work very closely with the Ghana Book Publishers Association (GBPA) and Ghana Book Development Council (GBDC) in promoting book use countrywide. We participate actively in book fairs and exhibitions organised by these two bodies from time to time in various parts of the country. We also organise our own mini book fairs and exhibitions for schools.

In our future collaboration, we will endeavour to tailor our services and products more closely to the needs of our clients; re-affirm our support to capacity building through joint training initiatives in the areas of book development and publishing, library management, reading clinics and creative writing competitions; and would also continue to give Unimax Macmillan Scholarship Awards to needy and outstanding students through the Ministry of Education. Through this collaboration, we will be providing quality education opportunities for Ghanaians, so as to build the necessary human and industrial capacity for accelerated development.

It is our conviction that this country can best educate her children and future leaders by the provision of good quality teaching and learning materials and we are always prepared to take up any new challenges in the provision of such materials in the effort to move the country forward.

Unimax Macmillan… your gateway to the educational world.
